Hypnosis is a focused state of relaxed attention... like when you’re lost in a good book, daydreaming, or zoned into your favourite show, you’re aware and you’re in control. You can still move, cough, or scratch that itch if you need to. You don’t do anything against your morals, principles or values as your inner compass stays switched on the whole time.
We experience a form of hypnosis every day; while drifting off to sleep, waking up slowly, or staring out the window on a train ride. That’s essentially self-hypnosis...
Hypnotherapy isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution, but it is versatile. By working with your subconscious mind, we will reshape thoughts, calm your nervous system, and unlock resources you already have within you. Think of it as a mental and emotional decluttering; getting rid of the old and bringing in the new, making space for calm, confidence, and lasting change...

We’ll spend the first 10–15 minutes having an open conversation about what brings you here, what you're hoping to achieve and any questions or nerves you might have.
This helps me to tailor the session to you and ensures you feel safe, heard and at ease. We'll discuss how it works and what you might experience. I’ll then guide you gently into deep relaxation using calm conversation and techniques and begin the therapy. Following the therapy we will agree on any simple practices or reflections to try at home if applicable.
Hypnotherapy is not something that is 'done to you', this is collaborative experience - I guide, and you explore... You're in the driver's seat, I am reading the map... Lasting change comes from your willingness and our teamwork. This isn't a magical therapy, you have to want to change and put in the necessary work to do so. There may be some practice outside of our sessions which is designed to support you to achieve your desired outcome.
Hypnosis is a natural state of mind and can be self-induced or guided. It is used for entertainment, relaxation or personal exploration and is like a car running in neutral.
Hypnotherapy is the therapeutic process guided by a trained therapist used for healing, change and personal growth and is goal oriented to achieve your desired outcome - like driving in gear to a specific destination.
In essence you might use hypnosis to relax and you engage in hypnotherapy to transform.
While some changes can happen quickly, lasting transformation is often a collaborative process. We work together, sometimes across a few sessions, to make sure the changes feel natural and lasting. My goal, is to help you reach your goal in the quickest and most effective way possible.
The success rate of hypnotherapy varies depending on the individual and the issue being addressed. However, studies have shown that hypnotherapy can be as effective, if not more effective, than traditional therapies for certain issues.
While it is rare, some individuals may have difficulty entering the hypnotic state. However, there are other techniques that can be used to achieve similar results. I will work with you to find the best approach for your needs.
Yes, hypnotherapy can be done remotely through video call. This allows individuals to receive hypnotherapy from the comfort of their own home.
You are always in control during hypnotherapy. You cannot be made to do anything against your will, morals, or values. Think of it like guided daydreaming; you’re relaxed, but fully aware. Your subconscious mind has a strong protective instinct...
Stage hypnosis is entertainment, designed for laughs and audience engagement.
Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic partnership — confidential, respectful, and focused entirely on your wellbeing. No chickens will be impersonated here!
Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation with heightened awareness - not sleep.
You’ll hear my voice, feel comfortable, and remember the session. If there was an emergency you could respond immediately, no issues.
This was always a query of mine and something I had concerns over... however you naturally drift in and out of light trance states every day (as mentioned daydreaming, after waking and just before sleep etc.)... There has to be continued dialogue for this to work so if I stopped talking, you’d simply 'come back' into full awareness to see what's going on.
Most people remember the entire session clearly. It’s more like having a meaningful conversation; you might not recall every word, but the insights and feelings stay with you.
People with good focus, imagination, and willingness respond best to hypnotherapy. It’s about cooperation, not surrender. Anyone with a resistance to hypnotherapy we could explore the reasons behind this.
While we've all seen those thriller movies about the creepy hypnotherapist controlling the client... Unfortunately I don't think an inspiring movie about Sally overcoming per public speaking issue or Harry conquering his fear of flying would hit the box office! Hypnotherapy is mind collaboration, not control. I work with your subconscious to help you reach your goals. When practiced by a qualified and ethical therapist, hypnotherapy is safe, non-invasive, and drug-free. Your wellbeing and comfort are always my priority.
Hypnotherapy can support a wide range of issues such as anxiety, confidence, sleep, trauma, chronic pain, performance nerves, phobias, IBS, stress, and so much more.
